The first country in Africa I ever wanted to visit was Mali, and now, nearly four years living on this continent later, I still haven't gone! High priority - will hopefully happen one of these days... Unfortunately I don't know anyone who could help with contacts in terms of a studio visit - but if you do make it and want to write something or send some photos, let me know!!

<a href="#comment-3498" rel="nofollow">@Glenna</a>,
I would love to do a guest post, if I ever make it to the studio, I still need to find out its location etc, some googling should be able to sort that out. If you have any inside information, or if any of your readers know more, I'd be most grafetul.
My conference does not need a photographe, I am afaid. It will be just a bunch of social scientists who work in Bobo Dioulasso, BF discussing their work. I think we would make for very dull photo subjects, though the work we do is fascinating (if I can say so myself)
If you ever decide to take photos in Bobo Dioulasso, let me know, I keep a house there and also have ample connections - and plenty of great people and things to photograph.

Ah, Fatou, I'm so jealous! Does your conference need a photographer?? If you make it to the studio, I'd love to feature a guest post by you about the visit if you're willing.

This is fab news, my favourite of his photos is the one of the couple dancing, a girl barefoot. I think it is called Christmas Eve. I am off to Bamako for a conference in a forthnight and hope to be able to visit his studio. I think his son is running it now.
